Why tradespeople?
My brother is an electrician. I've watched him build his business from scratch — and I've seen how brutal it can be. The seasonal rollercoaster. Fighting for scraps on Checkatrade. Quoting jobs against five other blokes who all got the same lead at the same time. He's brilliant at what he does, but for years the phone only rang when the algorithm decided it should.
Meanwhile, I've spent my career in content marketing — writing websites and words that get businesses found online. I've delivered 50+ websites across my career for companies like Dropbox, Salesforce, Oracle, and ServiceNow, and generated hundreds of thousands of leads along the way. I know what makes a website actually work, not just look nice.
Alongside Zenlio, I work for a field service management software company called Joblogic. Their platform helps tradespeople run their businesses — from quote to cash. Through that role, I've written content for and worked with more than 25 different trades, from facilities management to plumbing and drainage, from roofing to electrical maintenance. I understand how these businesses operate, what their customers search for, and what makes someone pick up the phone.
That combination — deep marketing expertise, real knowledge of the trades industry, and a personal connection to what it's actually like to run a trade business — is why I built Zenlio.
The problem I keep seeing
Most tradespeople either have no website at all, or they've got a five-page template from 2018 that does absolutely nothing for them. No local targeting, no SEO strategy, no content that answers the questions their customers are actually asking. It just sits there, collecting dust.
And the "solution" the industry offers? Pay Checkatrade £80+ a month to share leads with your competitors. Pay a web designer £2,000 for a pretty homepage that Google can't find. Pay an agency that promises you "page one rankings" and then disappears after three months.
You're already wearing too many hats. You're on the tools, you're quoting jobs, you're chasing invoices, you're ordering materials, you're doing the books — you're doing the job of three people just to keep the business running. You don't have time to fix your website too.
What Zenlio actually does
Zenlio is your always-on job-generating machine. I build you a proper website — not 5 pages, but 40+. Dedicated pages for every service you offer and every area you cover. Blog posts that answer the exact questions your customers type into Google. The whole thing structured so search engines — and now AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity — can read it, understand it, and recommend you to people who need what you do.
Then I keep it working. Fresh content every month. Performance reports so you can see the numbers. Ongoing optimisation so your site builds momentum over time instead of going stale.
When people in your area need what you do, Zenlio makes sure you're always there.
The honest bit
I'm not going to pretend I know how to wire a consumer unit or fix a leaking boiler. That's your expertise, not mine. What I know is how to get your business in front of the right people at the exact moment they're searching — and I've been doing it for nearly 20 years.
If you're good at what you do but invisible online, we should talk. No hard sell, no jargon, just a straight conversation about whether this would make a difference for your business.
